Local Land Charges

The Local Land Charges Act 1975 granted the Lord Chancellor power to prescribe fees for local land charges in England Wales.  
 
Schedule 4, paragraphs 82 to 84 of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 amended the 1975 Act to enable registering authorities to set their own fees for local land charge searches, subject to guidance issued by the Lord Chancellor. 
 
We have therefore deleted the reference to fees on LLC1 so that in future, conveyancing practitioners must make the relevant enquiries of their local authority. 
 
THE AMENDED VERSION OF LLC1 WILL BE AVAILABLE TOWARDS THE END OF MARCH. THE CURRENT FORM SHOULD NOT BE SUBMITTED WITH THE INCORRECT FEES AFTER 1ST APRIL.
