New Gambling Act 2005 Forms

The Gambling Act 2005 will revoke the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963 and the Gaming Act 1968 on 1st September when the existing Betting and Gaming forms 1,3,4,6,9 and 10 will become obsolete.

·In future, the newly created Gambling Commission will issue operating and personal licences to gambling operators.
·However, certain Regulations have prescribed the applications for new premises licences which are submitted to your local licensing authority for gambling.
·GA1 is the standard application for a premises licence which should be used in conjunction with GA5a or GA5b and GA6.
·GA1a is an application to convert an existing gaming licence to a new licence between 21st May and 1st September. After 1st September, practitioners should only submit GA1.
·GA2 is an application to vary the terms of a premises licence which should be used with GA7a or GA7b and GA8.
·GA3 is an application to transfer a premises licence and can be used in conjunction with GA9a or GA9b.
·GA4 is an application for a provisional statement which should be used with GA10a or GA10b and GA11.
·GA 12 is not only an application for a club gaming or club machine permit but can also be used to renew a permit and apply for a permit under the “fast-track” procedure where the applicant already holds a club premises certificate under section 72 of the Licensing Act 2003.

THE EXISTING B&G FORMS 1,3,4,6,9 AND 10 SHOULD NOT BE USED AFTER 1ST SEPTEMBER. THE NEW GAMBLING ACT FORMS WILL BE PUBLISHED TOWARDS THE END OF AUGUST. GA1a WILL BE AVAILABLE IN AUGUST BUT CANNOT BE USED AFTER 1ST SEPTEMBER.
