Amended Companies Forms

The next phase of the implementation of the Companies Act 2006 will come into force on 6th April. 
 
In particular, Part 12 of the 2006 Act will make it optional for private companies to appoint a company secretary. However, this requirement will remain compulsory for public companies. 
 
We have amended Company forms 1B and 3C to reflect these provisions. Companies form 1A does not require amendment. 
 
Companies House has also amended 117 to comply with other sections of the Companies Act 2006 which will come into force on 6th April.  
 
AMENDED FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN APRIL. A SUITABLY MODIFIED VERSION OF 117 CAN BE USED. CURRENT EDITIONS OF COMPANIES FORMS 1B AND 3C CAN BE USED WHERE REFERENCES TO THE COMPANY SECRETARY ARE DELETED.
