The Oyez Shingle System is designed to bring you the accuracy you need – whilst requiring a minimum of time and attention, especially on the part of fee-earners. It’s a quick, simple way too determine the cost of time spent on individual matters and to assess the efficiency of a practice.
How the Oyez Shingle System works.
Every fee-earning member of the firm – including partners – is allocated a code number and a time sheet which is easily attached to the specially designed base board. Sets of perforated slips, collated in a ‘Shingle’ pattern so that only the top line overlaps, are placed on top of the costing sheet.
Details of meetings and phone calls are recorded on slips which are filed in the client’s file.
To produce management information the time costing sheets are used as an input document for offices with computerised time costing. Alternatively for a manual system the details are transferred to a Time Costing summary card. It is then a simple step to calculate the total value of work on any one particular matter.
